July Detention Staff Member of the Month

On the night of July 17, 2025, Officer Bell was assigned to the 6A Housing Unit. As part of his duties, he was locking down the inmates for the evening at the end of the general population unlock. It was during this process that an inmate assaulted Officer Bell, striking him with a closed fist. Officer Bell defended himself effectively, mitigating injury to himself and subduing the inmate with the minimal force required to control the situation. Officer Bell exhibited immense self-control during this incident in that, once the inmate ceased to be a threat, he maintained his composure and locked the inmate down in his cell. Officer Bell is a credit to his team and the agency as a whole, and is thus recommended for detention staff member of the month.
