County accepting applications for Round 2 of American Rescue Plan funds

Forsyth County Government is now accepting applications for Round 2 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding and is holding several more mandatory informational sessions for applicants.

Forsyth County was awarded approximately $74 million in ARPA funds, of which approximately $20 million has yet to be allocated. Applications must qualify based on the ARPA Final Rule and be allowable under North Carolina law, and only governmental agencies or non-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Information on the application process and who can apply can be found on the county’s website www.forsyth.cc by clicking the American Rescue Plan Act button.

Attendance at an informational session will be required for an application to be considered for funding. Sign up for virtual sessions is on the County’s ARPA website.

• Monday, May 23, at 11 a.m. (virtual session)
• Thursday, June 2, 10 a.m. (virtual session)
• Tuesday, May 31, 6 p.m. Paddison Memorial Branch (Kernersville) Library, Auditorium, 248 Harmon Lane, Kernersville

Forsyth County previously accepted public applications in 2021 and concluded that round on March 3, 2022. The County received 176 applications from local organizations and internal County departments during Round One and awarded more than $27 million.

The application deadline is June 10 at 5 p.m. Eligible proposals will be reviewed by staff and presented to the Forsyth County commissioners for funding consideration.
