Synopsis and Discussion

Air quality levels remain well within the Code GREEN range this afternoon as a cold front approaching from the northwest will usher in Canadian high pressure that will drop temperatures below normal for several days into the weekend. Ozone and particle pollution remains fairly clean upstream over the midwestern United States, which should support low to middle Code GREEN AQI for both pollutants tomorrow and Friday. A coastal low is expected to develop off the Carolinas coastline and may trigger some enhanced cloudiness over the Triad on Saturday. While the strength and positioning of the low is still in question as to whether or not the Triad gets more clouds and/or precipitation from it, air quality levels are expected to remain Code GREEN through the weekend. The Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection is making data available from the county's air monitoring network as a public service. These data represent the hourly data set from all of the sites within this network. Data from Triad sites outside of Forsyth County are collected by the North Carolina Division of Air Quality.
