Air quality levels are holding in the YELLOW range Saturday as light showers and mostly cloudy skies move through the region. Air quality is very interesting for the eastern part of the nation right now as Canadian wildfire smoke is hitting the states around the Great Lakes, while states along the Gulf of America are getting hit with Saharan dust. Between the two plumes of smoke and dust, air quality is relatively clean as a series of lows have streaked across this boundary. Yet another low will slide just north of the Triad Sunday and help improve AQI reading into the upper GREEN range. Right now, the weather pattern should help the Triad dodge the smoke to the north and the dust to the south. AQI levels should increase back into the lower YELLOW range Monday and Tuesday.
